About Us
Jai Maa Samalei
Sambalpur Parivaar, a social, cultural, and charitable group, has emerged as a sanctuary for its members residing in Bhopal and its surrounding areas, who have moved from their homeland, friends and acquaintances from afar seeking work, and are experiencing social isolation. As a social and cultural entity, its primary goal is to honor our local festivals through various social activities.
Western Odisha, located about 1000 km from Bhopal, where we currently reside, boasts a population exceeding 150 million, rich in its distinct culture, natural splendor, and historical significance. Here, we partake in festivals such as Nuakhai, Pushpuni, Bhaijuintia, Puojiuntia, Dhanujatra, and Shitalsashthi, all of which are deeply rooted in our faith and agricultural practices.
The Mahanadi River flows through the core of Western Odisha, offering breathtaking views of its natural beauty along its banks and supporting numerous communities across the state. The Barapahar hill is renowned for its role in the history of freedom fighters, including Veer Surendra Sai during the Indian independence movement. Gandhamardan Parvat, also known as Gandhamardan Hill, is celebrated for its stunning natural landscapes, featuring Nrusinghnath and Harishankar.
Western Odisha has produced great heroes like Veer Surendra Sai, Ghess Jamidar Hatey Singh, Madho Singh, Swabhav Kavi Gangadhar Meher, among others, who have fought against colonial forces and sacrificed their lives for our country. Many individuals from our region, such as villagers from Panimora, have contributed to the non-cooperation movement, Quit India Movement, and have been imprisoned for our cause.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to you for taking the time to learn about us, for your brief support, and for your blessings on the growth of our organization, Sambalpuri Parivaar. We also wish to emphasize that our organization is dedicated to preserving the Sambalpuri identity within us and to pass on the rich Sambalpuri culture to our future generations, ensuring it remains intact and not diluted by external influences.
